More random things&Photos

No. 1: I've turned 16, you can see my birthday cake in the photo link below.
No. 2: I've gotten two new pairs of shoes because before I only had one pair of shoes. So I went to this store and they had 2nd pair 50% off discount which made me buy two pairs. And guess how much they cost? After discount and tax....................130$, it was so worth it. I have pictures of them in the link.
No. 3: Although it isn't even October here the leaves are already changing in color, some of the leaves are already red. And the temperature is CRAZILY low compared to Taiwan, we'll have as low as 5 degrees Celsius the day after tomorrow, it's SO COLD!!!!
No. 4-Ms. Gotsis: Ms. Gotsis is GREAT, she's one of the best teachers I've ever had. She said something that was awesome last class. She said that when she made spelling or grammatical errors it is a........."Sign of Genius"........ It's great, next time when I make mathematical mistakes or write a paragraph that doesn't make sense I'll just say “But Mr. Goodes/Ms. Ancans, it's a sign of genius, my hand cannot keep up with the speed of my brain, it's a sign of genius you know." I think I would totally get whacked for saying that.

First month of school

YA!!!!
First month of school is over, 1 down 3 to go. School is better than I expected before, most of the teachers are great and the courses are interesting, so I'm quite enjoying myself. The only teacher that I don't really like is my Physics teacher, who is quite a pain, and the only class I don't enjoy, except of Physics which is the teacher's fault, is Math, which is way to elementary. Math is also a pain not because it's hard but because it's way to easy, the 11th grade Math here is like a mixture of 7&8&9th grade Math back in Taiwan, mostly 8th grade I guess, so I have to focus on not falling asleep during classes. Economics is great mostly because of the teacher, Ms. Gotsis, she's GREAT!! Although I've already had Economics in grade 9, it's still quite pleasant to take economics.
And it's my BIRTHDAY!! Happy Birthday to me.....I'm officially 16 years old now,for all that's worth.
And I'm getting a new computer when I get back to Taiwan!! A new COMPUTER!! My dad said that I should list down the specs. first, so here they are
CPU:Intel® Core™2 Duo E8500 6 MB L2 3.16 GHz
Motherboard:Asus Rampage Formula
Physics-Acceleration Card:Asus PhysX P1
Graphics Card:Asus EAH4850(ATI HD4850)/1G
Hard-drive:1TB
Memory:DDR3-1600, 4GB
If everything runs according to plan and I get this computer I'm gonna be thrilled, it's a great configuration for gamming without spending to much on it,at least thats what I think, so that's is another reason for me to look forward to going back.
So, there's a lot to say and I've typed down some of it, I'll get back when I have more to write about.

Random things

Random thing #1:I just got my notebook(actually it's my family's but whatever) back up and running after it was re-formatted and its Windows XP re-installed, I had to go to ASUS's website to get all the drivers before the computer could go on-line and etc. I also installed Office 2007 Enterprise version, which I downloaded with BT.
Random thing #2:I totally miss HFPC and my youth fellowship back in Taiwan, it's way better than the church here(not that the one here is bad)."You don' know how important it is to you until you lose it", you don't know how true it is. I MISS YOU GUYS!!!!LOOKING FOWARD TO RETURNING!!
Random thing #3:School here is interesting and simple as long as you don't include essays and reports in the calculation. Some of my teachers are interesting(my English teacher managed to fall once off her chair and once onto the street in three weeks) and some are boring. So generally school is OK,but you know it's school so........

First week of school

So, I've survived my first week of school fairly well. The classes here are fairly simple(I skipped a grade and it's still......), Math is a like 7&8th grade, and all the others are okay, the only subject I'm struggling with is ... ..English(Big surprise....), I've already had to write a whole page of things for homework and an essay(Oh the dreaded essay...) for this weekend on whether a old man in a story by Mark Twain is a lunatic.....
Jarvis Collegiate Institute is a typical American/Canadian high-school, people running to catch classes, people late for classes, people talking in the hall, people being sent to the VP's office for having a hat on..... You get it.
Anyway, the first week of school is interesting enough to make me go to school next week(like I have a choice) so I'll be posting more once I have the time(and stuff to write).

back&getting ready for school

OK, it's been a long time since I've posted anything, so I'll summarize whats happened in the past week or so.
Last week I was in Seattle, you can see the pictures through the link in my last post. I returned to Toronto on the 25th and I moved into where I'm living now on the 26th, here are the photos

Then, on the 27th I went to the local school board to take a test on my English and Math, after a few hour they decided that I should be in 11th grade according to my age, almost 16, and the results of my tests,11or12th grade in reading comprehension and passing 10th grade math, so I'll be going into 11th grade at Jarvis Collegiate Institute here, skipping 10th grade......

Anyway, it'll be a tough semester here,I'm taking 8 courses here: The Individual and the Economy, English, Healthy Active Living Education (co-ed), Functions(Math), Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer and Information Science, all 11th grade courses and,of course, all in English. And at the same time I'll be studying the 10th grade material of my school back in Taiwan, Jianguo High School , which makes it a double work-load. The only good thing is that school here only starts at 8:50 and even later, 9:55, on Wednesday and ends a 15:10, school hours are much shorter than those in Taiwan.
I'll be starting school on 9/2, I'll post more later, after school starts.
You can always check my pictures on Facebook(my Facebook is Jesse Lee), here's the link:Photos

lock-in

I went to the church of a family friend, Christian Evangelical Church of Vancouver,CECV, and I like their youth group a lot,the music, the feeling, you get it. So somehow I got into this lock-in thing(which is an event in which kids in the youth fellowship stay over night at church), and I loved it. We sang songs, prayed, chatted all night, etc. It would have been perfect if I hadn't skinned my knee, I skinned it while we were playing CTF(Capture The Flag), I was chasing someone and tripped and then someone else bumped into me,which didn't help at all, so my knee hasn't been in great shape in a few days.Otherwise it was a fabulous night.
